If you’re thinking of traveling to Alaska no doubt you’ve considered a cruise – they’re one of the best ways to see the state! Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re booking to make sure you’ve got the right cruise down:
Look at the Activities: Even in a state like Alaska, the options are varied. Pick a boat that stops where you want to stop and also offers activities booked ON BOARD – this can save you money haggling once you disembark.
Ask for Extras: One of the greatest things about cruises is the cost – they can be quite cheap. If you can stomach it, wait until last minute to book and ask to be upgraded if you’re celebrating something special. Balcony rooms, rooms with Satellite packages and even Jacuzzi suites are yours for the taking.
Pack Well: Yes, it’s Alaska but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be -30 degrees everywhere. Pack in layers and be sure to remember that the boat’s going to be heated WELL – you may need lighter attire than you initially think.
